Harmony Homes of MN is a vision of the owner, Elizabeth Hanson
Beth had an injury as a young child that caused her to spend quite a bit of time at Gillette Childrens' Hospital. It was there, that her desire to help those with disabilities of any kind started.
Then, while in college at UW Madison, Beth worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities who worked through a job training program at a bar she managed. She observed their dedication to hard work, and constant smiles, all while doing work others often complained about.
Later, and when in Law School, Beth worked part time for 5 years at a large group home company. She keenly noticed where improvements in care and service delivery could be made. After completing Law School, and working as an attorney, Beth decided she deeply missed working with others who had a zest for life, and being part of a community where the team was focused on building others up. Hence, Harmony Homes of Minnesota LLC was born and opened its first home in 2002.
This first home, on the Maplewood/Woodbury border was/is for only females. Several of the same staff and clients are still there! A second home was opened in 2004 for males in Arden Hills, and a third home was opened for males in 2005.
Beth and her husband Todd (Married in 1994) now have three children. The twins are now in college, and the company is celebrating its 20th year in 2022. The company is focused on creating HOMES rather than houses, and curating staff who focus on complementing the clients they serve and treating staff and clients as family.
